RHUL Men’s 1st ULU team travelled to St George’s, University of London, this Monday to continue a red-hot league campaign that has the team now standing with a seven-game win streak.

Adam Robin was the only disappointment at number one, losing the only games and match of the fixture, losing 3-2. The other players, Julie Peachey, Jamie Pearce, Hugh Gibson and Arran Waterman, showed their excellent skill by winning all their games 3-0, with only a handful of points given away throughout the matches with Julie and Jamie posting 27-3, 27-1 scores respectively.

This team looks unbeatable entering the end games of the season, with both the league and the cup well within reach. Let’s just hope Adam Robin can fight increasing injury complaints to see the season out.

RHUL Men’s 2nd ULU team also travelled away to the UCL courts to take on the School of Oriental and African Studies’ 1st ULU team. Both teams are finding their feet this season and it proved to be an interesting and unfruitful confrontation for RHUL.

Jon Davies won RHUL’s only match 3-0 showing some excellent presence on court and pushing his opponent hard. However Jonny Eyles and Joe Mathew could only manage one game off their opponents, losing 3-1 each, and Will Walton and Ben Hine fared even worse, losing 3-0. The season has taken a sour turn for this new team with sights now set on finishing within the top half of the league. Imperial College 4th ULU team stands defiantly in the way of that goal.
