2014’s Club of the year, the RH Tom Cats are a highly successful sports team on and off campus. We compete across the country throughout the year in Cheerleading, Stunt, Jazz and Hip-Hop. If you’re not competitive then our lively Sideline team could be for you. Our Sideline team is the face of Tom Cats on Campus and attends sports fixtures supporting other Royal Holloway teams.
Think cheerleading is just for girls? Think again. Our boys have no issues trying to pick up girls. We lift people rather than just weights. It takes power, strength and athleticism to be a cheerleader but we have a great laugh while we’re staying in shape.
We are Tom Cats and we like to play as hard as we work! We love lots of socials. This is where teammates become friends and friends become family. The RH Tom Cats have a lively social calendar with events happening every other week. Some of our favourites include: Initiations, Fresher’s welcome drinks, Thorpe Park Fright Night, Christmas Meal, Tom Cats Go Commando! (SU Night), Come in Your Kit (SU Night), The Presidents Dinner, Movie Nights, Colours Ball, Buddy Socials and not to forget the most fun social of the year, Cheer Holiday! Last year Tom Cats sunned themselves on the beaches of Zanté and had an epic, week long social with parties, beaches and boat trips in the sun.
If you are a gymnast, dancer, weightlifter or just fancy trying something new, then make sure you come and say hello during Welcome Week and join our taster sessions to see if cheerleading is for you. We require no prior experience from you to become apart of the Tom Cat family.
