Varsity: Archery Interview

Are you looking forward to Varsity?

Yes, definitely! It’s going to be a great experience no matter the outcome for us.

What are you most excited about?

I’m really looking forward to being able to join the other clubs in competing against Surrey, feels great to contribute for the first time this year.

How have you been preparing for it?

I’ve tried my best to fit in as much shooting practice as I can, but as the club’s coach, I like to spend a lot of time helping out club members. The club has just recently moved from the Egham Leisure Centre into the campus sports hall, so it has become a lot easier to get more training times in

Are you feeling positive about your chances? If so, why?

It’s hard to say for this first year of doing it, as I don’t know much about Surrey’s level of archers. We’re just going to turn up with a lot of enthusiasm and hope for the best!

How well have you done in the past?

It’s our first time in Varsity, and our first time competing against Surrey.

Do you feel like you are a team to watch?

Potentially! It would be amazing to turn up in our first year and bag a win for Royal Holloway in archery.

Do you think that being away from home this year will affect your chances in any way?

No, I don’t think so. At the end of the day, we’re shooting at the same distance and target faces that we train with all year. It’ll just be a new venue for us to do it in!
