*Trigger warning: sexual harassment*
At Orbital, we want to draw attention to the prominence of sexual harassment, both in and out of the workplace. According to a survey carried out by the Trades Union Congress, 63% of women between the ages of 16 and 24 have been the victims of sexual misconduct, with a third of these cases being perpetrated by someone in a position of authority. As a university with over 5000 female students, we are gravely concerned with the working conditions our graduates will face in the future.
You can read our article on the recent allegations of sexual harassment at Ubisoft, a video game development company. Over the last few months, many executives have been forced to resign after being accused of misconduct, from hosting meetings in strip clubs to choking employees at parties.
