The two girls were crossing at Middle Hill on the A30 Monday evening, when they were caught in the middle of a car crash and knocked down.

It can be confirmed that two female Royal Holloway students were involved, where one was injured, and the other seriously injured.

Ambulance crews attended the scene, a spokesperson from South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “We were initially called to reports, an 18 year old woman had been hit by a vehicle, but it was later reported to be two patients.

Both patients were assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to St Peter’s Hospital.”

A spokesperson from Surrey Fire & Rescue further said, “We were called to a road traffic collision on the A30, Egham Hill at 7.59 last night and we sent one fire engine from Egham. There were two cars and two pedestrians involved in the incident. An 18 year old girl was treated at the roadside after being struck by one of the cars.”

A 20-year-old student was knocked down on the A30 in 2012, but unfortunately died of her injuries. Also another road collision at Middle Hill back in 2013 killed a man in his 60s.
