5 Things to do Before you Graduate

Whether you’re a fresh-faced first year or a weary postgraduate, graduation seems a long way off. However, soon enough, the end of your university career comes around and you wonder where it’s all gone. Here are a few things you MUST do before you disappear into adult life: 1. Walk around the whole of Virginia Water Lake. Within half an hour of campus is Virginia Water Lake, part of Windsor Great Park. Living so close to a great spot of natural beauty, it would be awful to miss out on seeing the whole of the lake - it is 4.5 miles to do the circuit and there’s also a coffee shop where you can reward yourself with a well-earned snack. 2. Missing: Woman in Egham Now Found Safely

Yesterday afternoon (February 2) a woman in Egham was reported missing by her family, and Surrey Police were put on the case. Carol Davies, a 58-year-old resident from Englefield Green, had last been seen leaving her home in a Black Audi early on Thursday morning wearing an oversized grey sweater, and grey trousers. Officers from Surrey Police were growing increasingly concerned for her welfare, as her family stated it was very "out of character for her to be away from home for this length of time without making contact". The news was spread quickly online, via social media, in the hope of increasing awareness and bringing Carol back safely. Six Injured in Egham Collision

Six Egham occupants were injured when a black Nissan pick-up truck collided head on with a white Mercedes van around 7:40pm on Sunday 2nd October. The incident occurred at the Vicarage Road junction by Mead Close in Egham. The road was closed while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the event were carried out at the scene, blocking vehicle access. Out of the six pedestrians who were involved in the collision, two were deemed to have been seriously injured. They were then taken to St Geroge’s Hospital via ambulance to be treated for the injuries to their arms and legs. Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses of the collision, which continues the ever more frequent series of road accidents in Egham. Disruption caused by 4 month closure of Harvest Road

It would be surprising if students, and Englefield Green residents, had not noticed the recent closure of Harvest Road. Work began on Monday 4 January and is in aid of creating a revised two way road which is presupposed to help with congestion on the A30 for those living in, and around, the area of Middle Hill. However this work has involved the closing of a major section at the end of Harvest Road to all cars and pedestrians until the middle of April. The university recognises that the work ‘will be disruptive for people living both in the immediate area of Harvest Road and the surrounding streets’, but they state this disruption is obviously unavoidable, ensuring they ‘will work hard to keep local residents updated on what to expect and when, with information through letterboxes and ...
